Junior Product Designer

LOCATION: Located in Boise Idaho. No relocation assistance is available. 

COMPENSATION: Depends on experience.

Fly Racing is currently seeking a talented, motivated Junior Product Designer with ambition to design power sports apparel and equipment.  The ideal candidate is knowledgeable with the design process and eager to learn more about design, development, and manufacturing. The candidate must be able to communicate design concepts both visually and verbally, and show a thorough understanding of Product/Fashion Design practices.

This is a full time entry level position that will support the Product Design team in the research, concept development, and design of products for the Street and Snowmobile segments of Fly Racing.  Other duties may include packaging support for Fly Racing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Trend, consumer, and competitive research
  • Concept development through sketching, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, and prototyping
  • Participate in problem-solving exercises with the product design team and/or project teams
  • Present and modify designs with design team to achieve the desired end product
  • Assist in presentation preparation and prototype development
  • Work within a specified timeline to achieve required deadlines

Competencies

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Industry experience or associate degree in related design field.  Bachelor’s degree would be a plus
  • Portfolio showing examples of relevant project work
  • Have an outstanding ability to communicate form through 2-D means
  • Show a comprehensive understanding of the design process
  • Experience in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. In-Design and Excel would be a plus
  • Demonstrate a desire to learn and contribute in a collaborative environment with multiple disciplines

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Interest in outdoor power sports (Motorcycles, Snowmobiling, ATV/UTV, BMX, Mtn Bike, and Watercraft).
  • Strong mechanical inclination
  • Strong fashion sense

Customer Service / Order Entry Clerk

Status:  Full-time, 40 hours per week
Reports To: Order Entry Supervisor
Salary: DOE

WPS is looking for service-oriented individuals to join our fast-paced team of powersports enthusiasts. As a Customer Service / Order Entry Clerk, you will play an integral role in the supply-chain process, acting as a liaison between the customer and management. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining positive, service-driven relationships with our customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service as the first point of customer contact for inquiries such as pricing, product information, shipments, and order details
  • Confer with production, sales, shipping, warehouse, or common carrier personnel to quote estimated transit times and expedite or trace shipments
  • Communicate and coordinate with other departments to resolve challenges and inquiries
  • Maintain harmonious relationships with customers to enhance goodwill and promote service values of the company
  • Check inventory records to determine availability of requested merchandise
  • Assist with general information about products, sales and materials
  • Work with many other department teams in a variety of administrative tasks as required

Competencies

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Proficiency at 10-key by touch and minimum 45 WPM typing speed required
  • Strong working knowledge of Outlook Mail and the internet is essential
  • Ability to toggle between at least 4 program windows at a time preferred, but not required

PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Qualified candidate must be reliable, responsible and dependable
  • Strong Customer Service skills with an ability to process orders promptly and accurately
  • Proficient in professional writing skills to communicate directly with customers via email
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six to twelve months related experience and/or training
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, listening and responding

PHP Web Developer

Western Power Sports is currently seeking a PHP Web Developer to join its fast-paced and expanding community.  We are looking for entry to mid-level candidates with the desire to grow professionally. A well-qualified individual will have hands-on experience building, testing, deploying and maintaining high-quality, scalable web applications. If you thrive in a professional team environment, enjoy finding solutions to varying challenges and have a passion for web application development, this is the opportunity to develop your career!

Our projects reside on a fleet of cloud-based load-balanced autoscaling linux server instances on AWS. Current work is taking place in Drupal and Laravel, so be prepared to dive into those if you haven’t already. The primary languages that we develop in are PHP, HTML5, and JavaScript but we do not necessarily limit ourselves to that area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Front-end web UI & back-end web application development
  • Analyze requirements, architect & design solutions, troubleshoot and fix bugs, work with support as necessary. Assist in determining requirements, business processes, coding, testing, debugging
  • Generate quality PHP/HTML/CSS markup and JavaScript from Photoshop mockups
  • May be involved in modifying or adapting existing designs and minor interfaces and/or integrations for in-house development

Competencies

What we'd like to see:

  • Self-starting learner with excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Medial understanding of PHP, application architecture and object-oriented design
  • Ability to work with minimal direction while maintaining a high level of productivity
  • Basic knowledge of Linux environments and open source tools/platforms
  • A solid foundation of semantic HTML and CSS and at the very least minimal experience working with JavaScript and related libraries
  • Knowledge of cross-browser/cross-platform compatibility
  • Experience building applications that use REST based web services and JSON data structures
  • Experience with version control systems (particularly Git)
  • Comfortable learning and embracing new languages quickly; ability to help us assess where new technologies, languages, and platforms may be things we should consider

Bonus points for:

  • CMS experience, PHP framework experience, Laravel 5, Drupal 7, Magento CE, Zend Framework
  • Server (EC2) administration on Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • MySQL, DB2, and/or other database knowledge
  • Mobile Development (Web-based HTML5 mobile responsive design)

Human Resources & Payroll Admin

Location: Boise, Idaho
Compensation: DOE
Brief Description: Compiles and maintains personnel records and assists in completion of payroll processing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Some knowledge of human resource management concepts and good knowledge of administrative support functions including organization skills, composing business documents, compiling and summarizing data and customer service are required. Experience interpreting and applying employment laws, rules, regulations and policies. B.A. in Human Resources or Business Management is a plus, but not mandatory. Minimum 3 years HR or payroll experience required. Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and the Internet.

Competencies

  • Records employee information such as personal data, compensation, benefits, tax data, attendance, performance reviews or evaluations, and termination date and reason.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Processes employment applications and assists department heads in the onboarding process.
  • Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental, vision and disability insurances, 401k, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
  • Updates employee files to document personnel actions and to provide information for payroll.
  • Examines employee files to answer inquiries and provides information to authorized persons.
  • Compiles data from personnel records and prepares reports.
  • Compiles and maintains records for benefits plans participation such as insurance and 401k plans, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
  • Records changes affecting net wages such as exemptions, insurance coverage, and loan payments for each employee to update master payroll records.
  • Assists in preparing and issuing payroll.
  • Prepares and files reports of injury for all locations and contacts work comp insurance company to file claims, resolve issues and answer questions from providers and employees.
  • Organizes HR processes and suggests improvements to maximize efficiency.
  • Reviews and audits insurance invoicing for accuracy against payroll deduction records.
  • Identifies areas of improvement within department workflow process and record keeping and assists department heads in implementing best practices for compliance.
  • Effectively rollout company-wide changes while embracing department goals and objectives.
  • Follows policies and procedures to complete administrative tasks correctly and on time while supporting organization's goals and values.
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Prioritizes and plans work activities by using time efficiently.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness while looking for ways to improve and promote quality.

Details
This position is Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week. Overtime may be required during times of need. Experience in the Powersports industry is a plus. Well qualified individuals will be highly organized and able to multi-task in a fast-paced office environment with great attention to detail. Accuracy of records and compliance of established policies should be a high priority. Employment is dependent upon passing a pre-employment drug screen.
