Job Title: FLY Racing Project Lead / Developer

Summary

Fly Racing is currently seeking a talented and motivated Project Lead and Developer to manage and develop projects for FLY Racing segments.  The ideal candidate is knowledgeable and is experienced in project management, product development processes, manufacturing processes, and production processes. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively with the Design team, domestic and foreign vendors, as well as a variety of internal departments within Fly Racing.

JOB DESCRIPTION
This is a full time position that will support the Product Design team in managing products and developing projects for the Street and Snowmobile segments of FLY Racing.  

Competencies

 

Basic Qualifications

  • 2-3 years industry experience.
  • Experience in: Microsoft Office (with a high proficiency in Excel), Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • Understanding of successful project management practices
  • Understanding of manufacturing practice and methods in the garment industry.  This may include sewing, materials, construction layout, and pattern making.
  • Demonstrate a desire to learn and contribute in a collaborative environment with multiple disciplines.
  • Highly organized, self-driven, and an understanding of when and how to take the initiative.
  • Willing and able to perform multiple tasks.
  • Willing and able to travel to overseas countries.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in outdoor power sports (Motorcycles, Snowmobiling, ATV/UTV, BMX, Mtn Bike, and Watercraft).
  • Highly organized
  • Self-driven
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Organize, communicate, and manage project information/requirements for Design projects.  Coordinate and collaborate with Street and Snow teams, Purchasing, Catalog, and Marketing
  • Internal communication with the Art Director and Design Staff on the status of projects to ensure that the projects are on schedule, on budget, and overall design intent and product functions are being met
  • Implement and manage timeline/schedule for each product with vendors to ensure key milestones and delivery dates are achieved
  • Daily communication and coordination with factories to ensure that the product development goals are being met for each project
  • Ability to effectively problem solve a variety of issues, while maintaining a solution based approach
  • Assist creating product reviews and commenting on pre-production sample issues, as instructed by the Design Team
  • Overseas travel to vendor factories for items that are being developed

  • Strong portfolio showing examples of relevant project work
  • Portfolio samples must show creative thinking, innovative designs and product development process
  • Have an outstanding ability to communicate form through 2-D means
  • Show a comprehensive understanding of the design process, manufacturing process, and production process
  • Experience in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Office. 3-D modeling would be a plus
  • Demonstrate a desire to learn and contribute in a collaborative environment with multiple disciplines

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Interest in outdoor power sports (Motorcycles, Snowmobiling, ATV/UTV, BMX, Mtn Bike, and Watercraft).
  • Strong mechanical inclination
  • Strong fashion sense

  • Work through all phases of the product development process – concepts through production
  • Concept development through sketching, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, and prototyping
  • Ability to manage projects from concept to production
  • Participate in problem-solving exercises with the product design team and/or project teams
  • Present and modify designs with design team to achieve the desired end product
  • Work within specified deadlines and budgets
  • Work with vendors to develop garments and production requirements
